Foreign markets are reopening, encouraging Vietnamese to travel abroad. The number of Vietnamese booking a tour in Europe, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Bali (Indonesia), Taiwan (China), has risen.
In a bid to attract more Vietnamese for overseas travel, tour operator alliances have been formed to jointly create new tours in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.
At the end of August 2022, around 20 tour operators in Hanoi, including VietFoot Travel, worked together to offer an 8-day program in Mongolia. Director of VietFoot Travel, Pham Duy Nghia, said tourists will discover many new tourist destinations including the vast Mongolian steppe.
At the end of 2022, some Hanoi travel agencies and Sri Lankan partners created the “Let’s go Sri Lanka” alliance. According to the director of Pattours, Vu Giang Biên, her company has received reservations for this destination by the end of February 2023.
Sors Travel Services has collaborated with 120 travel agencies on the exploitation of destinations: Turkey, Morocco, Dubai, Jordan, Israel, Georgia, Egypt… Its general manager Ulgen Yesil declared that in the coming times, the market for outbound tourism would grow very rapidly thanks to the opening of new circuits.
UNESCO Travel Club (HUTC) President Truong Quoc Hung said that in order to make good use of the new routes, agencies need to shake hands to offer tours efficiently and at reasonable costs.
Vietnam Tourism Association chairman Vu The Binh said tourists are often hesitant about new destinations. In order to reassure them, travel agencies must work closely with embassies, tourism management agencies and business partners in other countries to build safe, quality and secure tours.
